Did Someone Say Shopping?

Monday, December 6, 2010

Get your pajamas on and your wallet ready because we're going shopping! Online shopping that is!  When it comes to shopping I have a bit of a dilemma: I love to do it but I don't want to spend a lot of money doing it.  That's why I resort to several solutions which I like to think were made especially for me (kidding).  Shhh, don't share my secrets with anyone (again, kidding since you probably already know most of them)! Below you'll find some of my favorite sites (and current finds) that are great money saving solutions.  As a quick heads up, you need to sign-up for an account with each of these sites but don't worry since it's easy and free. You might just find the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone!  What are your favorite money saving shopping sites?

This is a great site to find deals on everything from shopping to restaurants to activities.  Each day there is a different deal in a city near you that you may be unable to refuse!  As an example, there was recently a "Groupon" for $50 worth of merchandise at American Apparel for only $25.  How great is that!?  Other shopping locations that have been featured include the Gap and Nordstrom Rack.  Some Groupons that I have purchased include a trip to one of my favorite local restaurants and two races at a Grand Prix (which was more for the boyfriend).  I've also bought a gift of pole dancing classes for one of my friends which was something she had been dying to try! So, word of advice: sign-up for GROUPON notifications!

This was the first of the budget friendly sites that I was introduced to.  Similar to Gilt Groupe, they feature great brands on clothing, accessories, home goods, and travel.  I love when they come out with "boutiques" such as Cuisinart and KitchenAid because there are items that you may have seen for full price just days earlier.  One of the things I love about this site is that you get rewarded a $10 credit each time you refer a friend!

Left to Right: Philosophy Gift Set, Cole Haan Handbag, Cosmopolitan Glass

You won't feel guilty after making purchases on this site! They have fabulous deals on items that would usually cost you a pretty penny.  From brands like Juicy Couture, BCBGMAZAXRIA, and Diane von Furstenburg, there's something for everyone!  You can buy gifts for your wardrobe or even your home.  But wait, it gets better: with Jetsetter you can find great hotel deals on beautiful hotels around the world.  So you're thinking what's the catch? Each "sale" is only on for a limited amount of time so you better jump on it!

Left to Right: Black Candle, Pearl Chandelier Earrings, Heart Keychain

It's a close call but Ideeli might just be my favorite of all the sites. In my opinion they have the greatest assortment of items and I'm constantly finding myself wanting everything! I also find their prices slightly better than the other sites.  Another great perk is that they often have giveaways...although I have yet to win something!

Left to Right: Dessert Dish, Velvet Angels Booties, Ray-Ban Sunglasses

OO yes! I really like Rue La La! I started out with Hautelook and I really like it too. I am super jealous that one of you lives in NYC that is my plan after graduation! What do you do there if you don't mind me asking?
